Friday, November 15, 2024 | 5:00–7:00 PM | SEC AtriumFALL 2024 OPEN HOUSE
The Fall 2024 NeuroNetwork Open House convened students, faculty, and researchers for an evening of interdisciplinary research exchange and professional networking. The program featured poster and digital presentations from neuroscience labs across Tufts University, with additional participation from Harvard University’s Lichtman Lab. A catered dinner provided space for informal discussion and cross-institutional engagement.
The keynote address was delivered by Barry Trimmer, Henry Bromfield–Pearson Professor of Natural Sciences in the Department of Biology at Tufts University. His talk, Sense and Mobility: How Does a Nervous System Respond to Noxious Stimuli?, examined the neuromechanics of locomotion and sensory processing. Drawing on research from his laboratory’s work with Manduca sexta, Dr. Trimmer highlighted how studies of flexible biological systems inform advances in soft robotics and biosynthetic robot design.
